News: New Hofer-Racing Stickers arrived ! Patrick Hofer doubles at 4th round of Swiss buggy nats The 4th round of the Swiss 1/10th electric off-road nationals was held at the famous Hohenems track. Mixed weather was predicted for the weekend but the drivers were greeted by sunny and warm weather on Saturday. In both the 2WD and 4WD class Team Associated’s Patrick Hofer took the win on the slippery track in front of Team Durango driver Milan Steiner and Team Yokomo Swiss’ Peter Forster who grabbed the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively in both classes.
Patrick Hofer sweeps Swiss off-road nats Rd3The 3rd round of the Swiss electric off-road nationals was held at the Umwelten Arena in Spreitenbach on a medium-bite carpet track with 120 drivers in attendance. Team Associated/Reedy’s Patrick Hofer swept both the 2WD and 4WD Modified Buggy classes after taking the TQ in the 4WD class and starting from the 2nd place on the grid in 2WD. In 4WD Patrick was sidelined on the podium by Milan Steiner (Team Durango/Team Orion) and Peter Forster (Yokomo/Nosram), while Nico Schmid (Yokomo/Hope Modellbau) and Gregi Gassmann completed in the podium in the 2WD class.
The Swiss Championship visited the track in Islikon, which is the smallest track the drivers will face this year. The technical track, featuring a high-grip carpet surface, produced lap times in the 16-18-second range. Five practice rounds and two qualifiers were scheduled for Saturday. Qualifying would continue on Sunday along with the main events. Reedy/Team Associated factory driver Patrick Hofer was making his debut with his Reedy-powered B5M in the 2WD class. It took a while for him to become acclimated to his new car; nevertheless, he was one who set the pace, was fastest in the final qualifying round, then started on the third grid position. Even though his car was even better in the final, Patrick was unable to overhaul the top two but still managed an impressive podium finish in third. In the 4WD class, though, Hofer was the man to beat. Unlike in 2WD, Patrick qualified on the pole position and took the main event win with his Reedy-powered B44.2. |
